Welcome to SpringMor Acres!
Gene is busy showing our pinto pony stallion in the pinto shows here in Minnesota. They make a great team and have come a long ways. Together they have won the 2001 MN Pinto Reserve Championship in Pony Pleasure Driving and also Amateur Pony/Mini Pleasure Driving. The year 2002 brought them the MN Pinto Championship in Pony Ideal Driving. In July of 2003, they received their Register of Merit in Amateur Pony Pleasure Driving. The Area Championship Show in Windom, Mn in July, 2003 saw them placing first in both Pony Pleasure and Ideal Pony Pleasure Driving. The National Pinto Association does not allow an adult to ride a pony under 13 hands so "Chief" was ridden by a young girl for us in the Pony English Pleasure classes. They earned his Register of Merit in both Pony English Pleasure and Pony Ideal English Pleasure in July of 2001.
This is remarkable because they were the only saddleseat team in competition in the pony classes and this was their first year of showing together. We'd like to thank Jen DeRosier of Brainerd, Mn for doing such a wonderful job showing Chief and Shelly Sellers of Brainerd, MN for all the hours training Chief and Jen. They earned the MN Pinto Reserve Championship in Pony English Pleasure and Pony Ideal English Pleasure in 2002 still showing saddleseat! Gene is also busy with the Todd County Sheriff's Mounted Posse here in Minnesota. He was one of the founding members in 1996 while riding his half-Arabian gelding, Arabec, who is 30-something and still sound. His backup posse horse is his wife's Arabian mare who is 20 in 2003. She has given us lots of love and is a horse we would trust our lives to. She was named Lazer Beam by our oldest son who, at the time we bought her, was enthralled with Star Wars. And Beamer, as she is called, was FAST! This little lady, 14.2 hands) raised all three of our kids. She did pleasure classes and game classes. And the kids slept in her stall with her guarding them. She would nuzzle the lap of a child in a wheelchair and not move a foot if someone fell off. This is the type of Arabian and pony that we strive to breed. Gene and Beamer do look a little short in the posse lineup but she'll lead the rest of the stock horses across anything Gene puts her to demonstrating the loyalty and trust between horse and man.
Jane was the "show mom" behind the kids and now Gene. Although she's allergic to horses, she's right in there helping to bathe, clip and put on the bug spray. She enjoys seeing Gene and Chief work so well together and gives praise and criticism when needed. She is the one who knows the pedigrees like the back of her hand and helps in 4-H with conformation knowledge of the Arabian horse. Jane is the business end of the farm. She does the advertising and works on the marketing plans. The breeding decisions are also made by her. She loves to talk pedigrees and conformation and just plain horse talk! Stop
in for a visit and we'll show you some midwestern hospitality. A phone
call first will make sure that we are home. We are always ready to talk
horses whether you are interested in breeding to one of our stallions,
looking to buy your own Arabian or pony or just like looking at horses.
Everyone is welcome!
